Concrete pool resurfacing is the process of restoring the surface of your pool to its original condition. Over time, wear and tear can cause the concrete to crack, chip, or become rough, making it uncomfortable and unattractive. Resurfacing involves repairing and prepping the current surface and then applying a new, durable surface that will not only restore your pool's beauty but also extend its life.
If you're debating whether to repair or resurface your pool, consider the following benefits of resurfacing:
At Atlanta Leak Pros, we follow a tried-and-true method to ensure your pool resurfacing is performed with precision and care.
We start by inspecting the condition of your pool. Our team assesses the damage, including cracks, stains, and rough surfaces. We then discuss your goals for the resurfacing project and provide recommendations for finishes and textures that match your style.
Once we've agreed on the details, the next step is draining the pool. We remove all the water to access the pool's surface safely.
This is a critical step in the resurfacing process. We remove any loose portions of the current surface, repair any cracks or structural damage that may be present, waterproof the areas around all the pipes, lights, and waterline tile, and then apply a bonding agent to the surface, to ensure a strong bond.
We apply the new surface layer using the highest quality materials designed to last. You can choose from more traditional plaster, various pebble aggregate finishes that range in color and shade, or more prestigious options that feature glass beads that shimmer in the sun, or even seashells that have an iridescent shine!
Once the resurfacing is complete, a final acid wash is done, and the curing process begins. You will start refilling the pool as soon as the work is complete, and we will consult with you to coordinate the startup protocol that will take place over the first 30 days after the new surface is installed. This will typically be handled by a qualified pool maintenance professional.
